Seek out Beauty
Seek out beauty. Spend time in nature, and look with your eyes and heart to see the beauty all around you, in nature. Visit the park, and see if you can find 3 new things you’ve never seen before in the park: flowers, birds, bugs, leaves, anything. Really look at them and see if you can appreciate something about them.
Spending a little of your time seeking out beauty and appreciating beauty can bring you Joy. Joy has powerful healing qualities, and can help you in subtle ways that you don’t even realize. It can help you relax and de-stress. It can help you be kinder to your family and friends and coworkers, naturally. You won’t feel “forced to be nice”, you will just be nicer without effort. You’ll feel more like a real human being again, if you didn’t feel that way before. You’ll feel more grounded, like you are standing on a solid emotional foundation again, and you’ll realize this is how it should be to be a human being, closer to how life was when you were a child.
My mom used to always take a break at lunch time to sit alone in nature – wherever she was, she would find a little garden or spot in the forest, to sit on a rock or on a blanket on the ground, and eat her lunch, and just listen and look at everything around her. It helped keep her relaxed and grounded – in contrast with her hectic job during the day.
